Thawte SSL Web Server Multi-Domain Wildcard is an Organization Validated certificate. Before issuance, the certificate authority verifies domain control and the identity of the business requesting the certificate. Checks include organization registration and standing, address and telephone information.
Thawte lists most OV certificates as issued in one day with identity checks. Actual timing depends on complete business records, successful domain validation and prompt responses to information requests.
Verified organization information is included in the certificate, providing additional identity assurance compared with a DV certificate.

The wildcard does not itself match the root domain. Ensure required root domains are explicitly included in the issued certificate. The standard www/non-www pairing is supported for the applicable common name when both versions are requested.
New subdomains matching an existing wildcard pattern generally do not require reissue solely to add their names. The certificate must still be deployed and configured at the endpoint serving each new subdomain.
